Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she has the record of being awarded 10/10 marks in an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi is the Romanian gymnastics instructor who was later Comaneci's coach who first came across Comaneci when she was just six years old. She participated in the Romanian Junior Championships and placed 13th. She won in 1970. In her 1972 first international competition in a preolympics junior competition for countries in the Communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. In her very first competition in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals as well as one silver. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first woman to perform the backward double salto in a dismount from the uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Carol Wayne's journey in the world of entertainment began in her teens. Together with her sister Nina Wayne, she joined touring entertainment programs known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on 6th September, 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol ventured into the entertainment industry during her teenage years. She started her career performing figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister, in the traveling entertainment shows Ice Capades. It featured dramatic ice-skating shows.
