Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 1988) is an American actor, singer and dancer. Early Broadway roles are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside famous directors and actors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford's upcoming project is an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. Ashford, who will appear as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who created Hamilton directed the musical. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters into the first ever impeachment proceedings in America for over a century. The two-season run she had on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first significant role. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Also, she has appeared in Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original role in the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for an Tony Award. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
